What do you do?
I’m an author, editor, and boutique publisher.
What are the biggest changes you see happening in your industry?
Indie publishing – hands down. The good news is that a lot of books that would never have become available now are. The bad new is that many of them are badly edited, have poor cover designs, and present with improper formatting.
What opportunities and challenges will these changes bring about?
Anyone can now become a bestselling author without having to jump through traditional publishing’s hoops. The primary challenge is to do so in a way that reflects well on you as an author and the quality of your work. Also, there’s huge pressure on indies to give their work away. Resist the urge!
What are your biggest goals?
Personally, to provide entertaining, well-presented literature for my readership to enjoy. As a publisher, to provide my authors with a viable alternative to traditional publishing, while maintaining the same level of quality.
Who and what would you need to reach your goals fast?
Three clones of myself.
Finally, who should contact you and why?
Anyone trying to become a successful indie author would benefit from reading my books Pen & Ink 2014 and Cover Design and YOU!, both of which are chock full of information and helpful tips.
