What do you do?
In the last couple of years, I’ve been blessed by this geyser of art, and have been passionately playing with photo manipulation (photo painting and collage, using an ipad and a number of amazing photo manipulating apps) as well as watercolor and mixed media painting), while also building a most unusual cello with my partner Fred (I’ve been building violin family and experimental instruments since the early 70″s). Walks down our bumpy farm road happen every day with our young pup,,,,it’s a simple sweet life.
What are the biggest changes you see happening in your industry?
The advent of the the computer, smart phones and tablets has completely changed things during my life time. I hardly recognize this planet! I am just beginning to look into how to spread and share this fountain of art pouring through here, and am finding that the way to go is through social media,,twitter, facebook, websites, and interviews like this! We are galloping as a species, into a brand new and amazing new world.
What opportunities and challenges will these changes bring about?
For me, one of the biggest challenges is that all this digital sharing time cuts into my quiet time out on the land, or time playing music, enjoying friends up close, as well as doing my art. I can get swallowed up by hours of ethernet-sharing each day, and miss out on sunshine, breezes, birds and my friends smiles.
What are your biggest goals?
I’m enjoying playing with art SO much, that I’d love to spread this joy around the world, and have it help to support me in return.
Who and what would you need to reach your goals fast?
At this point, I’m still rather uncomfortable with tooting my own horn, and would love to have help in this arena. Wouldn’t it be grand to pass the tooting part of things off to someone who is enjoys and is skilled at marketing and showing off other artists work? I’d so much enjoy having more time to create, and less time here working to let the world know what’s going on up here on the hill.
Finally, who should contact you and why?
I would love contact with art collectors, buyers, gallery’s, and artist’s representatives, so that, I could have more time to spend on my art, while enjoying the help of others who are skilled with marketing and connecting artists up with buyers.
