What do you do?
I’m a generative art designer who uses creative coding to explore new audiovisual boundaries. I use data, maths, video, sound and interaction as my tools to create some pieces of artwork. I like to mix different types of medium to create more powerful and cohesive art expressions.
What are the biggest changes you see happening in your industry?
Generative design is in constant evolution and it is invading more and more areas such as movie titles, animation or sci-fi movies, vjing, theater and dance performances, architecture structures or modern buildings, fashion design, 3d printing objects, visualizing data, … But unfortunately it still remains out of the mass culture and it is perceived as weird and techy.
What opportunities and challenges will these changes bring about?
As art consumers we constantly need new art stimulus and Generative design is going to offer to artists and designers new tools and a different approach to art creation. Generative design is going to experience an exponential growth and it is going to be used in many areas.
What are your biggest goals?
Basically my first big goal is creating alive narrative stories combining different kinds of mediums in order to immerse the audience in multimedia and multi sensorial experiences. I want to allow people to watch, hear, touch, and feel my creations.
Secondly I want to let my creations be recognizable and create my own style in generative design. It is quite difficult and it demands many years.
And finally the last goal is selling my pieces of artwork as art prints, t-shirts, mobile phone cases, wall clocks, … in order to get funds to use new technology gadgets in my creation process.
Who and what would you need to reach your goals fast?
A partnership with an IT company would be great. As many creative coders we have the knowledge about software but in many occasions we can’t afford for the hardware we need, so the art installations or live demonstrations can’t be so spectacular.
Finally, who should contact you and why?
Anybody interested in taking part in collaborative generative art projects or with different ideas about new ways of audiovisual expression are welcome. I listen to any interesting idea or proposal.
Thanks! And reshare me in Twitter and Facebook! =)
