REALTOR and training instructor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties (formerly Prudential California Realty) in the Los Angeles area since 2005. Member of the BHHS National REthink Council.
What are the changes happening in your industry? How do they impact you?
Besides the huge splash mobile technology has made in our industry over the past 10 years the biggest change I see is the growing age gap between the average REALTOR (56 years old) and the average first time buyer (31 years old). This is something that we as the BHHS REthink Council have had discussions about. Why are millennials staying out of the real estate industry? How can we recruit, train and retain smart young talent into our industry? I believe we will absolutely need to get younger as an industry to ensure that REALTORS dont go the way of the travel agent.
What do you want people to know about your work?
Today the real estate industry has embraced all things tech! Live streaming video, messages that disappear after viewing them once, even remote controlled flying drones are being utilized by sales agents all over the world. Bringing in younger more tech saavy agents who were raised on technology will only help our industry evolve and thrive. It will be an opportunity for those who embrace the change early within the industry and a challenge for those who refuse to adapt.
What are your biggest goals?
I write down my goals on New Year’s Day every year to help me stay focused On the big picture. This year I would like to create a network of HR people around the globe to provide real estate relocation services to and from the Los Angeles area. So far the LA to London connection is developing and I will be focused on making the same connections in Spain.
Who or what would you need to accelerate your goals?
I need all the HR personnel reading this who need an outstanding real estate resource in LA to reevaluate their current relocation people and contact me when they are ready for an upgrade in service!
Finally, who should contact you and why?
I believe that every person looking to move to or from a home in the LA, North OC or Western Inland Empire areas should contact me because I believe my experience, marketing and negotiation skills will result in an efficient, stress-free and sucessful transaction.
